We
usually see EB Games and GameStop jumping the gun on unannounced
games but this time it is Amazon.com the online store that claims
that a sequel to Gears of War will be released on November 15,
2008. That’s exactly two years after the release of the
original game in the U.S.
With the Xbox 360 version of the game selling more than 4
million copies to date, it is expected that both Microsoft
and Epic Games are willing to bring us more Gears of War games.
The 2006 Game of The Year already got novelization, comic
book and film deals in addition to a Windows version that
featured five new campaigns, new multiplayer modes and full
Games for Windows – LIVE support for online multiplayer
gameplay sessions.
The game is now available for pre-order on Amazon.com.
Do you think this is just pure speculation by the online retailer
or do they really know the sequel is coming next fall?
