Halo 3 :. Game Information : Campaign Skulls
  • Skull Basics
  • ---------------
  • -Skulls are available in each Campaign mission from the first time you play them.
  • Through the challenge varies in each instance, activating skulls makes Halo 3 more difficult in the Campaign missions.
  • -Unlike Halo 2, collecting a skull simply unlocks it, but dosen't trigger any immediate effect.
  • -Once found, skulls can be activated at the Campaign Options screen. There is no limit on the number of skulls that can be switched on at any given time, but only expert players should consider activating more than one or two simultaneously.
  • -Activated skulls add multipliers to points earned during Campaign scoring sessions. Remember When activating skulls click the Scoring Option to on inorder for any of the skull multipliers to take effect.

Iron Skull

Level: Sierra 117

Effect: In single-Player Campaign sessions, death leads to a penalty of.... drum roll.. being sent back to the very beginning of the mission (or a Rally Point, if you start at one). In co-op sessions, the death of one player will cause all participants to be returned to the previous checkpoint.

Location: After Freeing Johnson and killing all the covenent that come in the phantoms, walk to the Pelican that comes to pick you up. Face the cargo bay but instead of hoping in, turn left and follow the path. Once you hit the wall jump up to your right, eventually reaching a walkway. Walk all the way to the end, take a left, then a right, then at the end of this little bit to the right is a dark corner. Turn your light on and you should see the skull. If you cant see it you're probably standing on it.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Black Eye Skull

Level: Crow's Nest

Effect: You must Hit Enemies with melee attacks to restore your energy shield. No melee attacks = no recharge = Death.

Location: From the start without moving anything you can see a massive pipe above you. Walk up the stairs then up the next set, turn to your left and jump up on the shelf unit. From there jump to the red cross beam then up onto the pipe, from there just walk to the end and walk over the Black Eye skull to claim it. You dont have to pick this one up it does it automaticly.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Tough Luck Skull

Level: Tsavo Highway

Effect: Enemies become much more adept at diving way from grenades and certain other projectiles.

Location: After you have to deactivate a shield that's blocking the road, you will exit onto a bridge and a giant covenant ship flies overhead. You need to get out of your jeep if you are in one and go to the right side of the bridge, then go underneath and you will see bridge supports jutting out into the canyon. Jump onto the one farthest to the left and go to the edge and turn left and you'll see a small jut out of the cliff with the skull on it.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Catch Skull

Level: The Storm

Effect: Boosts the frequency at which Grunts and Brutes throw Grenades by a considerable degree, as well as the number of grenades they drop when they die.

Location: You will come to an area with 2 Wraiths. Don't destroy both of the wraiths. Kill everything BUT leave atleast one wraith alone. Then jump on the circle structure by doing a grenade jump and get it on the top.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Fog Skull

Level: Floodgate

Effect: Swpeives you of a tool all good players take for granted: the Motion Tracker. The motion tracker will not appear on the screen when the Fog skull is active. You can now laugh derisively when Brutes deploy Radar Jammers.

Location: It's in the first area before you drop down and get a message from Cortana. There is a flood form that jumps right over you at the beginning and lands on a building. Shoot and kill it while it's still up there and the skull should appear right near you.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Famine Skull

Level: The Ark

Effect: All weapons dropped by enemies or allies contain much less ammunition or battery power than usual.

Location: Play through the level as normal and once you pass the exploded phantom hang a right after the drop, drive over to the rocky wall infront of the third pillar, Jump up the rock face and jump onto the stucture using the right side, Walk to last pillar (closest to where you enterd the area, and look at it you should see the skull, To get it you might need help from another player, stand on there head chuck a normal grenade right down and then jump towards the skull, You will probably miss this jump about 5 times but you will eventually get it.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Thunder Storm Skull

Level: The Convenant

Effect: "Promotes" Covenant to higher levels in their hierarchy. For instance, a Brute captain in blue armor would become the superior variety clad in gold armor. In missions that feature flood, the number of shielded comabt forms is increased.

Location: After you shut down tower 1 and get access to the hornet, fly to tower 2 (the one the arbiter shut down). While walking up the stairs, go to the middle part that connects both and there will be a stair leading up to a platform where the skull is at the end.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Tilt Skull

Level: Cortana

Effect: Heightens natural resistances and weaknesses of each enemy type, which means that your choice of weapons requires a great deal of thought and forward planning.

Location: Continue through the level until you drop down an open (fleshy) hole into a small room with an open door and an energy sword beside a dead elite to the right. In the next room is a circular floor. Walk straight in (kill the flood first) to the middle of the platform and turn left 90 degrees. You should see two small ramps leading downwards. Hop on to the divider of the ramps and up onto the "mushroom like" platform coming out of the wall to your left. (Cortana will say some weird stuff about playing games) Then jump again onto the next platform just above you. Turn around 180 and look up, jump to the next platform and run across the fleshy pipe onto, a bigger, purple platform. Sitting in the centre, in a puddle of bones and fluid and their is the skull.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Mythic Skull

Level: Halo

Effect: After Legendary comes Mythic. When this skull is active, all enemies have double the usual allocation of health points.

Location: Follow the normal path till you reach a cave, then hug the right wall until it branches off into a small path, at the end of this path is some rubble and in front is the skull.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

WHBYD Skull

Level: The Covenant

Effect: You will here things that you never knew existed. This WHBYD skull unlocks new dialogue throughout the entire game.

Location: The Skull is located in the level, “The Covenant”. After defeating the Scarabs, and going inside, get to the location with all 7 Ring Holograms. Kill Truth first, then jump through the rings. You must jump through the rings in a specific order. That order is as follows:
4 5 6 5 7 6 5 4 1 2 3 2 7 2 1 3 4 6 7 5 4 6 5 4 5 3 4

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Grunt Birthday Party Skull

Level: Crow's Nest

Effect: When Grunts are hit with a head shot, their heads explode like a pinata with confetti.(Also with a birthday party cheer)

Location: Play through the level normally, The second time cortana interupts you saying *You Have been called upon to serve* you are in the right place, So walk to the end of this path but dont jump off the end, Instead look down and you can see a green arrow, try land on that ledge then turn around to see the skull.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Blind Skull

Level: Sierra 117

Effect: Hud and First person view, the characters arms and weapon are missing. This view to many gamers is depressing use at OWN RISK!

Location: After fighting the first set of enemies, walk downstream while hugging the right wall and eventually you will come to the edge of the cliff. There will be a bit of land jutting out below you with the skull on it at the edge.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Cow bell Skull

Level: The Ark

Effect: Explosions will have alot more power thoughout the game, such as grenades and other explosions.

Location: First pick up a grav lift from the small building near where you fight the Scarab. Now proceed through the level until you reach the second sloping hallway (stairway), you should see some partitioned risers (platforms) halfway down. The skull is on the top level. Toss the grav lift on the right side of the hall so it lands on the fourth little green dot from the door. Then run, jump, and use the grav-lift to propel you to the top. You should reach a checkpoint just as you enter the room so it you miss just try again.
