Gears of War :. Map: Old Bones

Old Bones

Old Bones is a larger, somewhat symmetrical map that spawns teams on either side of it. Each spawn point opens out into a central courtyard area, on one side of which there is a sniper rifle and another the boomshot. There are also grenades to pick up for added offense and regrettably, grenade tagging. Old Bones is what’s left of a once magnificent museum that has now been left in ruins. The design of the map is what makes the combat much more enjoyable for those who like to actually use tactics rather than running around like a chicken with your head cut off.

The central area is somewhat open with a large fountain in the middle. There are two side corridors that can be used to flank the enemy as well as the interior hallway areas of each team’s spawn. The sniper rifle was a key tactic to victory. In the majority of the rounds, the team that scored the sniper rifle first ran away with victory, particularly if they were able to grab the rifle uncontested.

I call this one “Night at the Museum”, because contrary to Raven Down, this one is really cool. The courtyard always offers high doses of action and strategy and this map does offer some cool weapons.
